Healthy Snacks for When Your Little One is Sick

My little boy caught a cold over the weekend and of course like with every sickness he gets, he refused to eat anything healthy. This is so frustrating because he eats pretty good normally but only wants to eat ice cream and chips when he doesn't feel good. I have slowly tried and tested a couple recipes that never seem to fail at getting him to eat something that is good for him.
Here are two very simply and and quick recipes that may help you in when your little one is sick:

1. Feel Better Fruity Pops
Blend bananas, strawberries, blueberries and OJ (or any of their favorite fruits but berries are best because of high antioxidant levels)
Pour blended juice into popsicle molds and freeze. You can buy the molds at any grocery store or make your own out of small plastic cups and popsicle sticks.

These fruity Pops are a delicious and nutritious snack that will cool them off and make them smile when they have a little fever. The best part is that they dont even know they are eating healthy so of course they will love them!

2. Broccoli with Popcorn sprinkles
Steam some broccoli and toss with olive oil and salt. Then pop some organic butter popcorn and crush into tiny pieces with your hands. Then sprinkle the popcorn onto of the broccoli. You can even add chopped grilled chicken for an extra boost of protein but chop it as small as the popcorn pieces so it blends in nicely.

This snack looks cool and is packed with nutrition!
